Interesting in freelance editing? I send absolutely everyone who asks me to this woman, Kathy Ide. She's wonderful! But I've referred so many recently, Kathy forwarded the information and resources below. With her permission, I've posted it. Please take advantage of these opportunities if you are interested. Editing is a great way to generate extra income while working at home. Plus, you'll hone and sharpen your own skills while you're at it!
I LOVE helping folks...whether it’s editing their manuscripts, helping them find the right editor for them, or helping them establish or increase their own freelance editing businesses.
FYI, for people who are interested in possibly getting into freelance editing, I recommend The Christian PEN: Proofreaders and Editors Network. It’s a professional support organization for aspiring, beginning, and established editors. We have an e-mail discussion loop, online courses, helpful tips on the website (www.TheChristianPEN.com), and more. That’s my group, too, so please feel free to refer people to that.
The Christian Editor Network (www.ChristianEditor.com) is for established freelance editors, and it’s just for matching them up with authors, agents, or publishers who are looking for high-quality professionals. Since I screen all the members, I can personally recommend them. It’s a great way for people who’ve been editing for a while to increase their clientele and get beyond the “feast or famine” stage of freelancing.
